How to measure your Shar Pei for good fit Collar:
PAY ATTENTION BEFORE CHOOSING THE SIZE!:
- The collar will fit the size of your Shar Pei’s neck circumference on the central hole (the 3d one).
- Each collar has 5 holes with 1 inch (25 mm) distance between each two of them.
- It means that you have two extra holes (2 inches (50 mm) extra length) to adjust the collar for 21 inch (52.5 cm) and 22 inch (55 cm) neck size.
- You will also have 2 smaller size holes to adjust the collar for 18 inch (45 cm) and 19 inch (47.5 cm) neck size.
- The tip of the collar (measuring after the last hole) is 2 inch (5 cm) long.
- As these are handcrafted collars, their sizes may differ a little, but not in a significant way.
- 2 ply leather collars and padded leather collars are 1 inch bigger to make sure that it will fit your dog.
It is very important to consider width of the collar when choosing a collar for training. You’d better use wide collars for large dogs because of training stress distribution - the larger is the surface of a collar - the less pressure upon some separate segment of your dog’s neck. In this way you’ll save your Shar Pei from getting ingured while walking or training (of-course the manner of training depends solely upon you, so choose correct approach to your pet’s teaching).
The quality of the leather is also a very important factor. In this collar we use selected full grain leather. Perfectly oiled it makes a strong reliable equipment which is at the same time soft and flexible.
Health of your dog is secured as we’ve used brass rivets at the internal part of the collar and thus minimized the contact of your beloved pet with this possible provoker of allergies. Nickel-plated spikes, brass studs and rivets are durably set by hand.
